Finally made it up to see a bit of the Angeles Forest after last fall’s Station fire. The 2 freeway was closed, so we snuck around to the west, up Big Tujunga Canyon Road. Mostly we saw tractor trailer after tractor trailer hauling mud and debris that had washed down the hills from the intense rains we’ve been having.
I was surprised to find out all this “nature” had to be removed — clogging drainage zones and presenting potential hazards to roads, as it turns out. It’s a gargantuan task, but people are doing it. And they’re probably thinking they’re lucky to have a job in this state, fire or no.
