Most people rave about the murals, but I like this practically illegible mustard/aqua/burgundy stripe wall-to-wall carpeting. (The design must represent something? Mayan glyphs?) Observed after a very interesting conversation with the writer Susan Griffin, part of a regular series taking place at the library.

Not all of the design, but a lot of it looks like people to me. There are definitely bodies in there – people sitting and standing… lots of heads, arms, and legs, and some of them have vague clothing lines.
Yes! I see them too now… I wonder if it was designed by an artist.
