Wallingford, Seattle, WA

We explored what was once the Home of the Good Shepherd, a shelter for young women — ahem — “The unfortunate women,” “Fallen girls,” “Troubled teens,” “Wayward women,” “Keepsakes for Heaven.” Built in 1906, it now houses small schools and a number of non-profits (like the C.G. Jung Society and International Snow Leopard Trust, kind of an awesome combination). The fourth floor is a performance space that can fit up to 150 people. In the mid-1970s, voters prevented the place from being turned into a shopping mall — good job, guys.
