Last week I went for a hike in the Pacific Palisades with Rebecca Baron, who is working on a film about Murphy Ranch. The site, much of it in ruins, is spread out over a mile or so in Rustic Canyon. It has the dubious distinction of being a survivalist outpost for a small group of American Nazis in the 1930s. Oddly, the buildings they constructed were all related to infrastructure — seemingly no residences. Above, filming in the power plant.
