Freeway Building Materials has been in the neighborhood of Boyle Heights for more than 50 years… and it shows. They have accumulated literally tons of architectural salvage dating from before 1960. Countless doors, windows, sinks, etc. — the decaying remains of Bunker Hill and other victims of real estate turnover in this land of eternal progress.
Below, what must have come from some kind of institution or workplace — half drinking fountain, half sink?
A school? A post office?
Finally, my favorite: hanging in bunches from a metal roof, gas stove burner grates.
